Not sure what all goes in a green smoothie? Have no fear! I’ve got 25 delicious green smoothie recipes for you to try out, here. My general rule of thumb: add a handful of kale or spinach to ANY smoothie I’m blending up!

Add them to your breakfast. A lot of times, my clients will describe their healthy breakfast as scrambled eggs and a piece of whole wheat toast. Not bad, but could be better, right? I always encourage throwing in some leafy greens and veggies to the egg scramble to start the morning in an even more nutritious way!

Salads always win. I aim to get in one salad a day to ensure that I meet my daily green quota. There are so many different ways to make a salad that it rarely gets boring!

I was recently sent some samples of the new Dole® Organic Salad Lines to try and I must say, they did not disappoint. I was able to try the Spring Mix and the Super Spinach Mix and both were delicious, fresh and crisp!

The Spring Mix is a delicious blend of baby lettuces and greens, and is one of my go-to varieties when assembling mason jar salads. The Super Spinach Mix has a little more zest to it, thanks to the blend of baby spinach, kale, chard and mizuna. This variety would also be a fantastic addition to your insta-worthy mason jar salad, but it would also be a fantastic add-in to soup!

Which brings me to the last tip….

Add greens to your soups. Soups are treated a lot like smoothies in my house. No matter what kind of soup I’m making, I like to throw a whole lot of greens in at the end to add even more nutritional value. The best part about adding greens to soups is that because they reduce in size so quickly, you can really add in a good amount!

Now, time for the giveaway!

I’ve partnered with Dole® to offer one lucky reader a prize pack, which includes: wood chopping blocks, a tote bag and salad coupons to try their new organic line of salad mixes!

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below sharing how you like to fit greens into your day.

Winner will be announced on Friday, April 14th!

Love all these tips for incorporating more greens!!! I like to sauté greens in veggie broth for a quick and easy dinner side dish. If I’m feeling fancy, I might even add a little minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and finish with some lemon juice for an extra kick!

    • Carly Ferguson says:

That sounds delicious! I need to do that more often. I always forget the simple things sometimes 🙂

  • David says:

We try to incorporate veggies into foods our kids already love. If we put macaroni and cheese and a side of peas on the plate, they won’t even touch the peas, but when we mix them together, mac-n-peas is one of their favorites.

    • Carly Ferguson says:

That is awesome, David! Usually kids won’t touch the food if they are “touching” so I’m so impressed!

  • Heather Hayes Panjon says:

I like to fit greens into my day with a salad!

  • Chloe says:

I eat more greens each day by serving most entrees with salad or over mixed greens. Sometimes we even do wilted spinach to make it less volume!

    • Carly Ferguson says:

I love wilted spinach. It’s amazing how much it cooks down! It really makes me feel like I’m getting a lot of nutrients for so little volume!

  • Jennifer Fong says:

I love to fit greens in my day via energizing, easy-to-digest green glowing smoothies. I also squeeze them in by enjoying a salad. I typically top my salad with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, sliced scallions and some avocado (yum!). I’d like to start incorporating greens into my soups. I have yet to try Dole’s new organic line.

    • Carly Ferguson says:

Yummy! I always forget about adding green onions to salads, but they are SO good! And yes, I’m all about those smoothies 🙂

  • GiGi Eats says:

It’s actually REALLY EASY for me to incorporate GREENS into my diet. I eat spinach by the one pound tub. I go through 1 of those a day, NO JOKE 😉

  • Lisa says:

I nibble on broccoli all day

  • Nancy Coppock says:

I have a salad everyday (can’t wait to try the Dole Organics – haven’t seen them in my local grocery store – going to take a closer look tonight!), either for lunch or dinner and sometimes both. I will add a handful of spinach to my scrambled eggs when I have them. Love to have “unwiches” for lunch too. Even my 16 year old daughter loves to throw a handful of spinach or other greens that happen to be in the fridge into her smoothies!
Need to try the collard greens wrap – looks delicious 🙂

  • Syl says:

I haven’t tried the Mason jar salads but they seem convenient. I can see trying the Dole salads inside a pita with ranch dressing.

  • Deanna Ferguson says:

Love the article. I never associated greens with energy! Thank you!

  • Cindy says:

Thanks for reminding me how important greens are in my diet. I love adding greens to my breakfast with a breakfast salad or sautéed greens with a fried egg!!

  • Kim Pincombe-Cole says:

My family is definitely a green loving family! We go through several big containers of Dole spinach & spring mix greens each week. We always have a salad with our dinners. But we also love to add greens to our sandwich roll-ups for lunch. And the spinach mix is a great addition to a steamed fish – my absolute favorite.

    • Carly Ferguson says:

I love how many greens you incorporate into your day, Kim! I have actually never tried steaming fish… I either roast or grill it. YUM!

  • Dee Johnson says:

I love adding greens to my soups.

  • I like to try to add greens 🌱 to each meal! I enjoy a green smoothie most days, a kale salad 🥗 for lunch and try to add a cold pressed green juice in to my meal plan each day for an added boost!
